Inside: All of the February Half-term activities happening in Bedfordshire.
It is almost February half term after what feels like a very long January, don’t you think? If you haven’t made any plans yet, there are lots of fun events happening in Bedfordshire to keep the kids entertained throughout the week.
This post lists half-term specific events, but of course there are the usual family fun days out in Bedfordshire to check out too.

February half term varies around the country, with some counties taking it 12th – 16th February and others 19th – 23rd February. Hopefully you will find an activity to suit you.

Vets in Action at Whipsnade Zoo
Dates: 17th February – 25th February 2024

If you plan on visiting Whipsnade Zoo this half term then children can have a go at being junior vets too. Visit the specially created zoo vet centre where junior vets will be prepped with lab coats before helping experts examine, diagnose and carry out treatments on toy animals.
Alongside the exciting role-play event, fascinating family talks and demonstrations will take visitors further behind the scenes, highlighting the extraordinary animal care provided by Whipsnade Zoo’s veterinary team.
Lambing at Mead Open Farm
Dates: 17th – 25th February 2024
Head down to Mead Open Farm for their Lambing event. Watch newborn lambs take their first steps in our undercover Lamb Nursery and keep a keen eye on our expectant ewes – you may see a lamb being born!
Half term fun at Herrings Green Farm
Dates: 17th – 25th February 2024

Come and meet and handle the owls, watch flying displays, have fun in the playground and climb aboard the tractors at Herring Green Farm this half term.
History Makers at Wrest Park
Dates: 17th – 25th February 2024
Wrest Park always put on great events for children and History Makers is no exception.
Join characters from the past for hands on fun, be transported back in time to Queen Victoria’s reign and hear from Victorian author Lewis Carroll and his companion about Wonderland adventures and how they recall this remarkable time.
Imagination Station at Stockwood Discovery Centre
Dates: 19th – 23rd February 2024
The Imagination Station is a free drop-in space for children and young people of all ages. Jam-packed with stuff to do and things to see, including theatre shows, drama, dance and puppetry workshops, creative activities and lots more.
Woodland Trees Trail at Jordans Mill
Dates: 17th – 25th February (Closed Monday 19th February)
Grab your coats and wellies, get out in the fresh air join in the fun with the Woodland Tree Trail at Jordans Mill. Can you match each leaf and seed on your trail sheet to the trees on posters around the site?
No need to book just pick up a trail sheet from the Mill Shop, £4 per child with a prize at the end.
